OUR FLAG IS STILL THERE As I was taking the Virginia Rail Express train out of Washington DC Tuesday evening to return home after this unforgettable day, I glanced at the billowing smoke that filled the western sky over the Pentagon. All the other passengers did the same. Some pressed their bodies up against the windows as if they were trying to get a closer look. The smoke began to filter through the train's air conditioning system and left a bitter smell in my nostrils. People throughout the train were expressing their fears and anger at the tragic sight. But, through the smoke and glaring sunlight I saw something that lifted my heart. Our Flag was still waving in the chaos over the Pentagon. Just as Francis Scott Key noted at Fort McHenry, out Flag was still there. America has been through some painful times and we will get through this one too. So don't let fear take over our hearts. Our ancestors are counting on us to continue to carry the torch. So let's not let them down. May God Bless America. -Anonymous
